Business Reporting Analyst - 12 Month Maternity Cover

An exciting fixed term opportunity has arisen at our Coventry office for a Business Reporting Analyst on behalf Global Insurance Management Limited and its subsidiary, A1 Guarantee Ltd.


The role offers an excellent opportunity for a hands on & diligent individual to play a key role in the production and reporting to AXA Group on the business activity whilst being a key member of the finance team to develop and maintain a pro-active service within the company.


 


Your day to day with include:


  • assisting in the production of timely and accurate financial information to the local Management Team

  • assisting in the delivery of reporting information to AXA Regional & Central Finance Teams

  • providing support and cover to the local Accounts Team on detailed processes & procedures

  • Monitoring reporting timelines and ensuring deadlines are met whilst also supporting the Accounts Team in the ongoing processing and reconciliation of transactions and balances.


 


Hours: Monday –Friday 9-5pm


Salary: up to £25,000 depending on skills and experience


Minimum of 9 months, covering a period of maternity.


 

Key deliverables include:


 

  • Meeting strict deadlines for Month End and Group Reporting.
  • Providing detailed and accurate analysis. 
     
  • Enhanced reporting on new product lines.
     
  • Development of a new and integrated set of management reports to inform business decisions.
     
  • Educate and train the managers and employees to improve financial awareness.

Production of AXA monthly reports

  • Monthly Cash Report
  • Monthly FTE report
     
  • Monthly New Business
     
  • Monthly GWP Rollforward report
     
  • Monthly IC report
     
  • Additional ad hoc analysis as required
     


 Assist in the production of the AXA reporting packs

  • Quarterly KPI analysis + IT reporting
  • Comments packs preparation
  •  
  •  
  • 6 monthly Year End Forecasting (FC1 and FC2) + IT reporting
  • Strat Plan (2 year Budget) + IT reporting
     
  • Follow up of the FTE and cost evolution
     
  • 6 Monthly Rolling Cash Flow
     
  • Annual Profitability Review
     
  • Annual N-1 (Y-1) analysis of final Year-End position
     
  • Additional ad hoc analysis as required
     



Assist in the production of the local management accounts pack

  •  GIM Group profit & loss update and analysis
  • GIM Group balance sheet update and analysis
     
  • Monthly FTE analysis
     
  • Additional ad hoc analysis as required
     


Assist in the month-end / year-end process

  •   JLR Service Plans monthly reconciliation and reporting
  • Self-Funded monthly reconciliation

  • Prepare and post other creditors (accruals) journal
  • Prepare and post month-end journal (postage usage, stock adjustment, clear suspense account, AXA commission on Reporting Only schemes etc.)Prepare Accrued Income report and post the journal
  • Post Crosstab journals and/or any other journals if required
  • Assist in Audit queries if required
  • Match the Year-End Statutory Accounts to internal P&L and BS spreadsheets
  • Additional ad hoc analysis as required

 

You will also provide support and cover to other members of Accounts team.

 

What skills should I possess?

 

  • At least 5 years Accounts Experience

  • Excellent excel skills, & able to demonstrate technical proficiency.

  • Analytical skills

  • Proven verbal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships within function and across the organization

  • Positive attitude with the ambition to progress within the organization

  • Demonstrable process and control skills

  • Experience using Sage 200 (desirable)

  • French speaker (desirable)

  • Magnitude/Pandore knowledge (preferable)

 

Education & Qualifications:

  • AAT Level 4 or equivalent

  • Finance graduate (desirable)
